DROP WORK / PRIVACY POLICY

Your camera roll
stays yours.

Effective 12 October 2026. Applies to the Drop iPhone app, Drop Work and getdrop.photos.

The short version

  • Drop never uploads your whole camera roll. A photo leaves your phone only when you choose it for a shared Drop or confirm it for a job.
  • A business using Drop Work sees only the photos its team confirms for a job. It never sees anyone’s personal photos.
  • We don’t sell personal information. The website uses no advertising cookies or third-party trackers.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time by emailing hello@getdrop.photos.

1. Who we are

Drop is an independent product operated from Perth, Western Australia. In this policy, “Drop”, “we” and “us” mean the operator of the Drop app (including Drop Work) and the getdrop.photos website. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Questions, requests and complaints about privacy go to hello@getdrop.photos.

2. Information we collect

When you use the website

  • Drop Work setup requests: your work email, company name, team size, type of work, your agreement to be contacted, and the link or campaign that brought you to the page (for example, an online ad).
  • Contact and pilot enquiries: your name, organisation, work email, what you run, approximate group size and anything you choose to write in your message.
  • Emails you send us, and our replies.
  • Visit counts: a daily tally of page loads, grouped by the link or campaign that led to them. These counts contain no names, cookies or visitor identifiers. Our hosting provider processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the website.

The interactive demonstrations on the website use sample photos and a fictional job. They do not access your device’s photos or camera.

When you use the Drop app

  • Access to your photo library, only with your permission through iOS. Drop reads when and where photos were taken so it can suggest which ones belong to a shared Drop or a job.
  • Photos you choose. When you contribute a photo to a Drop, or confirm a photo for a job in Drop Work, that photo and its date, time and location details are uploaded so the people you are sharing with, or your team, can see it.
  • Account and membership details, such as your name, contact details, and the Drops or teams you belong to.
  • Job information in Drop Work, such as job addresses and times, job types, the photos each job requires, any exceptions recorded, and the job records produced.
  • Camera access, if you choose to take a photo from within the app.

What we don’t collect

We do not upload or keep a copy of your camera roll, and we do not collect photos you haven’t chosen to share. We do not use advertising trackers in the app or on the website, and we do not build advertising profiles.

3. How we use information

  • To provide Drop: suggesting photos, building shared Drops, matching confirmed photos to jobs, flagging missing evidence and producing job records.
  • To respond to enquiries and set up Drop Work for business teams.
  • To keep Drop secure, prevent misuse and fix problems.
  • To understand, in aggregate, which links and campaigns bring people to the website.
  • To send messages about your enquiry, your account or the service. We don’t send marketing email unless you have asked for it.
  • To meet our legal obligations.

4. Drop Work: businesses and their teams

Drop Work is set up by a business for its team. Each team member’s personal photos stay on their own phone. They are not visible to the business, to other team members or to us. Only the photos a team member confirms for a job are added to that job and its record.

The business can view, export and share the job records its team creates. Once a business exports a record or shares it outside Drop, the business handles that copy under its own privacy practices. We ask businesses to tell their team how job photos are used before they start with Drop Work.

If you are a team member with a question about a job record, you can ask your employer or contact us directly.

5. Who we share information with

  • The people you choose: participants in a Drop you contribute to, or your team and business in Drop Work.
  • Service providers who host the website and app, store data, and provide email and infrastructure for us. They may only use the information to provide their services to Drop.
  • Apple, when you download Drop through the App Store or TestFlight, under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy.
  • Professional advisers, or anyone else where the law requires or permits it.

We do not sell or rent personal information.

6. Where information is stored and how we protect it

Information is stored with cloud providers. Some of them store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. We choose providers with recognised security practices, use encrypted connections, and limit access to the people who need it to run Drop.

No online service can promise perfect security. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and take the steps the law requires.

7. How long we keep information

  • Enquiries and setup requests: for as long as we need to respond and set up your team. If you don’t go ahead, we delete them within 24 months.
  • Photos in a shared Drop: until you remove them, the Drop is deleted, or your account is deleted.
  • Drop Work jobs and records: while the business uses Drop Work, or as agreed with the business. We delete them within 90 days after the business closes its account, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
  • Visit counts: these are aggregate totals with no personal information, and we may keep them indefinitely.

8. Your choices and rights

  • You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email hello@getdrop.photos and we will respond within 30 days.
  • You can remove photos you have contributed, and change or withdraw Drop’s access to your photos or camera at any time in your iPhone’s Settings.
  • If we can’t do what you ask, for example because a business needs a job record for legal reasons, we will tell you why.

9. Age

Drop is for people aged 16 and over. If we learn that we hold information about someone younger, we will delete it.

10. Questions and complaints

Email hello@getdrop.photos. We will acknowledge your complaint and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

11. Changes to this policy

We will update this page and its effective date when our practices change. If a change significantly affects how we handle information you have already given us, we will let you know in the app or by email before it applies.
